I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I recently did a system System Diagnostic test on my PC and the test revealed that I needed a SM Bus Controller Device. I went to the Gateway Drivers and Downloads section, did a search to find a SM Bus Controller device, and the search revealed four options:
1. PV9.0.0.1008.zip - Intel Chipset Driver
2. 390598_MA1_1_OEMGen_165622.zip - Intel Network Driver
3. WHQL_5688_PG262_Vist_XP_Getway_Dolby.zip-Realtek Audio
4. PV15.82.1461.zip-Intel Video Driver
Here'a my question:
I previously asked the question on this forum: What is a SM Bus Controller Device and I was advised to go to Gateway's Drivers and Downloads Section and do a search. As you can see, it came back with 4 options. I am new to this and I don't know which driver to select. Can you advise? Do I have to uninstall the previous driver (that is not working) before I can install one of the above drivers or will downloading the above drivers download and update and clear up any problems I'm having with the driver.

Oct 06, 2014 How to fix 'SM Bus Controller doesn't have a driver' problem in Windows 7 64 bit operating system. Are you getting yellow exclamation warning symbol over the SM Bus Controller. The Win7 portion is missing SM Bus Controller and Universal Serial Bus Controller in Device Manager. There are drivers available for Win7 64bit, but they don't contain necessary files for these 2 devices. There's only Audio, Video, Fake-Chipset (not really chipset, it's just a hard drive guard software), BIOS Firmware Network and some software. How to Download SM Bus Controller Drivers for my Computer? Step 1: Download Driver Navigator, install the program into your computer, and launch the program after install. Other than using Driver Navigator, you can manually download the drivers from manufacturers' website with no charge.
