I downloaded windows xp on my computer and when i did that it deleted my multimedia audio controller driver and i cant figure out how to fix it. I tried the original disc but it doesnt work. I've downloaded like 20 different apparent Realtek Audio AC'97 audio controller drivers but some failed to install and others were about to finish installing but my computer just shut down and rebooted. Windows Update hasn't helped and a popup comes up and says 'detected new Hardware.' and other time it says 'detected ac'97 audio controller'. and other times it says'there was problems with the installation.' I dont know what to do I'd really like any help on the subjet
edit: found driver, it was a SOUNDMAX driver instead of Realtek.
