A very poor eBook conversion
Hal Leonard Guitar Method
The publisher really put a halfhearted effort into this eBook conversion. Many errors throughout compared to the paper version (which I also own). Also displays poorly with a lot of empty whitespace - no ability to zoom enough to completely fill the screen (27” Retina iMac here). Sometimes the audio track will not appear on the same page as the notation despite there being plenty of screen real estate to do so, resulting in having to toggle pages back and forth to control the track. I’ve reported some of these problems directly to the author, who said he would forward to the publisher. I’ve seen no corrections. Unfortunately it seems the publisher does not believe in the legitimacy of its own product. I'd much prefer using the eBook version for the embedded audio files, but often it’s not worth the hassle and I revert to the paper copy and the audio tracks I’ve imported into iTunes. Clunky, but less clunky than using the eBook. A real disappointment. Come on Hal Leonard, it’s 2015. eBooks are a thing now. Figure it out please.
